A guide for the observation of the skies

(2020), charcoal drawing and performance.  Created at Banff Centre during the BAIR Late Winter 2020 program with the support of the  Raul Urtasun and Frances Harley Scholarship for Young Emerging Artists from Argentina.

The project developed at the BaiR Late Winter program involved a series of actions that focused on drawing as an active and performative mechanism. A way to reflect on the impact we, humans, have in our context.  As we inhabit places in a transitory way, we transform our surroundings, leaving marks and taking something with us. A nostalgic but sometimes destructive gesture is present and takes place without, most of the time, being completely aware of the ephemeral and fragile aspect of our world and way of life.

During my residency days I took screen captures from satellite weather images in real time from Banff and Argentina, I took this as an active journal based on the position and shapes of clouds formations that would then be part of a charcoal drawing installation in the studio wall.
